The Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association (FMSA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS) habitats and wildlife through the development of a diverse community of informed and active ocean stewards.
Program description: The Association in partnership with the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary and others conducts LiMPETS, Long-term Monitoring Program and Experiential Training for Students. LiMPETS is a regional, youth-based citizen science program for students grade 6-college. The program, serving thousands of teachers and students annually, offers a 5-unit curriculum linked to science and math education standards, a variety of web-based resources, online data entry and graphing tools, and a hands-on staff with academic training in science and education.
